dog friendly beaches

hi all

 

want to go to the beach tomorrow (yippee warm at last!!)

have just got a puppy now need to know what beaches dogs are allowed on??

adealaideand surrounding beaches

any ideas

Most beaches allow dogs on and/or off lead at different times.

In the summer off lead tends to be early-ish in the morning and in the evening and in the winter it can be all the time.

Semaphore and Largs in the north certainly allow dogs as to Seacliff to Brighton in the south -- they are all long and safe

Try Christies beach toward O'sulivans its an all year round dog beach

Or bring it down to Linear Park - Highbury side is "hound ground" (off lead allowed)

Remember to stay away from the dunes where the snakes live and watch out for washed up/discarded puffer fish. If your dog eats a puffer fish chances are it will die. Unfortunately dogs just love to eat them. Crabs are fine, they just give them really smelly trumps all night so sleep with the window open. Also if it's sunny put some zinc on it's nose.
