Yum, thought I'd have a go at smoking a whole Snapper. Had one in the freezer that just nicely fit into the smokebox.

No brine, just rubbed on rock salt, olive oil and brown sugar.

Chucked him into the smoker then baked him slowly in the BBQ for an hour ( still in smokebox).

Thought it would be different to take to a party tonight.:jiggy:

that looks great i do not eat meat or fish but family eat fish will need to try

I don't think you can buy whole smoked snapper.

It can be very expensive and then to smoke it on top. That fish there smoked is probably worth around $75?? ($25 a kilo plus smoking??)

Just having a bit of an experiment with doing it.

It tasted great - very somked mackerel from Whitbyish...........

I thought that too :cute:

I've got quite a few different wood chips but the oak wine barrel seems to be the one.

Shame I did not get anyone thinking I was eating the eye (shoved an olive in the eye socket) ,Shelley is wise to my jokes now ;):biglaugh:
