Walking along the beach and foreshore at Glenelg this morning at 6.15 and was disgusted at the state of the place, rubbish strewn everywhere, obviously left from the day night celebrations of Australia Day. Why can't people take their crap to the bins 50 metres away?? How much got washed away into the sea is unbelievable.

Should have seen the state of the Hill at the Oval and the Parklands outside last night! Could hardly see grass, it was awful (we brought our rubbish home with us!)

Remember going down to Glenelg one evening with some visitors after a day in the mid 40s and had never seen so much rubbish on the beach - felt quite ashamed, but that's probably because normally the beaches here are so pristine and clean.

Not condoning it, but the council cleaners do a fantastic job - bet everywhere is back to its normal state by this evening

Actually the place 3 hours later was more or less back to ok, wouldn't say pristine though.

We were at silver sands, it was rammed packed, we drove by last night on the way home, there were still kids hanging around but i was amazed at how many rubbish bags were filled, tied up and stacked by the bins. Took the dog down this morning for her run and the beach was in its usual state - beautiful!
