Italian Restaurant recommendations

Hi, Can anyone recommend a really nice Italian restaurant, that is situated between Glenelg and Mclaren Vale, please. It is for a special occasion, but need following:

 

Food to be really nice

Child friendly

Not bothered about cost (as I said, it's a special occasion)

Hi Nat,

 

I would definitely recommend Chianti Classico in Hutt Street in the city. I realise that this is not in the area that you specified but worth going the extra miles.

It is on the pricey side I'm afraid but the food is gorgeous.

 

We have taken our little boy there and have had no problems.

Ive eaten at Esca in Glenelg, which was really nice.. I didnt take the kids so cant really comment on that, but worth ringing ahead .. Great food

I agree... Esca on the Marina in Glenelg is really lovely. It's the only place on the Marina I think is worth 'marina prices'. It's in the Entertainment Book too so you can get 25% off.

I'll second Esca.

It's a lovely place with fabulous service.

Good job the budget is not tight though, the Head wine waiter had me trying a few vinos last time we were there - he knew his stuff.

 

Pop by for a coffee to suss it out first??

We enjoyed the one in Glenelg next to the Police station, can't remember the name starts with a C lol, we thought the food was lovely and a personal service and a homely feel to the place.

Hi Jackie - think you mean Capriccio on Sussex St, Glenelg (just off Jetty Road and yes LOL next to the police station) - this is on my list of new places to try - heard great things.
