Im not normally one to whinge but have to admit it is bloody cold due to the fact no double glazing or central heating. Hope to put this right if funds will ever allow at some point. Just doesnt seem right that you spend all your money buying a house then freezin your cobs off but life sucks sometimes. If you dont like it do something about it. Personally I know where I would rather be, and after getting off the phone to my mother in law a short time ago it aint the uk. She says its cold and raining and it is heading into summer there. If you are cold add on an extra layer or buy anther heater. You will be glad you did when the better weather arrives and see Adelaide in all its glory that will remind you why you came here in the first place. Grin and a bear it for now it will be worth it, and if you dont like it there is always something you can do to make it better/warmer.
Buy a slanket?
My two pence worth - if you think your house is too cold, do something about it - either build your own that has double glazing etc, get more heating for your house (there are after all various different ways), my helpful suggestion of the slanket, or normal blanket if you don't need to use your arms, or just shiver a bit.
Constructive 'I don't like this, what should I do about it' is great, just moaning 'its cold' is a pain and brings others down. Spread sunshine not grumpiness (yes, I did sick up a little in my mouth at the twee-ness of that) and the world will be a nicer place.
Argh, I'm off for a lie down, I'm getting far too happy clappy for words....
To cold in winter, to hot in summer, are you sure you lot are in Aus or are you all still hiding in the UK

Living In Adelaide Since Jan 2012 And Loving It
I think we have all forgot about the houses we lived in years ago, no double glazing no heating and we were in the UK its a lot colder there than here in the winter as we all know but we just got on with it, or we put in double glazing (that feather ad down the window had us all sold) and heating (as we have done here).
Tina (and I'm not the whinger whinging about the whinger who was whinging that was Steve) ;)
Got 175 visa 18th April 08
landed on planet Adelaide 26th Oct 08 LOVE IT!!
sorry i find houses in the uk too hot n stuffy. I still have my window open in my bedroom, haven't closed it for the winter yet. Aussies are tough and come the next iceage........they will survive due to not being used to living in warm houses.....and the UKlets will shiver to death wondeing where the double glazing is and why tog 50 quilts aren't made........ :P
