Don't know if it helps but not sure how/when they check funds on arrival? I'm sure they understand difficult climate etc. This may have been commented on via another post - I realise you needed to declare funds on the sponsorship application for 176 but this is only an estimate? Just a thought.
We are also in the same boat, we live in a nice little village in Oxfordshire have a nice 3 bed semi been on the market weeks and no one is interested at all. To make things worse there are now 5 houses in our road up for sale. No one has moved from here in the 11 years we have lived here. It's so disheartening. Hubbie is starting his new job in Adelaide at the beginning of September so looks like I will be here all on me Jack Jones
Good luck to everyone trying to sell
So we are back to square one again. I sit here glass of wine in hand and totally fed up.
We will leave things another two weeks then review our price to offers over and see what happens.
We may end up renting it out but my main concern with this is that people are now saying that prices are going to fall further and we only want to rent for 2 years - what if we end up in a worst position than we are in now????
Oh to win the lottery!
We may have some good news!! popped into the estate agent this morning to discuss how renting works and they said we would have no problem with renting it. Was out of the shop for half and hour and had a call to return and they said the lady who owns the shop next door wants to rent it and will pay slightly above the usual amount which will cover our rental fees!! We have somebody coming on Mon to discuss facts and figures but im hoping it is all positive. We would have preferred to sell but this way we would still have money in our account to come out with and a property at home until sold.
