Endoscopy on Medicare-How Much

Hi Guys,has anyone had an endoscopy on Medicare.Just wandering how much it costs.

Husband had this done on private and the consultant and anaesthatist both bulk billed,great guy will give you name if you want.

As to how much a person actually pays or what the cost is now, no clue. Can Medicare not tell you the average cost, if there is a charge to pay? I know when I've had private treatment or had to pay and claim on insurance (UK and overseas) I've always asked the company providing the cover, the hospital or the Doctor's secretary and they have been able to tell me price of medical exam/treatment etc.

I've had 4 this year 3 in public and one in private - public cost nothing the private cost me admit fee to Flinders Private $200. Doctor and anaesthetist bulk billed so it cost nothing.
