Depends how much you want to spend but how about 2 x gold class tickets for movies? A voucher for Westfield, they can be used in heaps of different shops for music, clothes, household, perfume etc.

There's a place somewhere up in the hills that does the most gorgeous non alcoholic fruit juices - sparkling apple, sparkling apple and strawberry, stuff like that. If I remember the name I'll post it up, but a nice bottle of something 'bubbly' but non alcoholic, wrapped prettily, would be my choice!

Found it - Ashton Valley - scroll down on this page for their address: http://www.buysouthaustralian.com.au/traders/listsubgrouptraders/61

I agree, you can absolutely give anything to your neighbor from the very simple tickets to movie to something more special like some pieces of glassware. It depends on how much you are willing to spend as a gift. I actually like the idea of giving a voucher for something that they can absolutely use. Makes them think that you really put some level of though to what you gave them.
