Selling Car - Can I get fined for parking it with for sale signs in it??

Hi all

 

We're selling our family car and I've made up some 'for sale' signs to put in it for when I'm driving about and parked at the tram stop all day.

 

Question is.... can I get a fine etc for "selling my car" at the side of the road? I'm not going to leave it anywhere "on purpose" - just for when it's driven around and normally parked. Like I said it spends 9 hrs per day parked at the tram stop.

 

I'd heard folk getting fined for it.

 

Anyone know?

Don't know if you can get fined at the tram stop but defiantly on the side of the road you can

I can't remember what the fine was, but it couldn't have been cheap or I would have forgotten about it

Wow, it wouldn't have even occurred to me that they could fine you. I got one of those white pens which you write in the windows with when I was selling mine. I got calls from people who had seen me driving it as well as seeing it parked in the side of the road.
