Hard drive recorders

Hi all you geeky tecky types......can you help please ???

 

We have a new hard drive recorder. However the programme guide is mostly not populated by the programmes. WHy is this ? is it the fault of the channels or is it a faulty machine ???

 

Any help greatly appreciated....

Ours does that sometimes with some channels but if you go on to the channel it then populates the program's. I'm not tecky but my OH is. What make is your hard rice recorder? I think my OH downloaded a new program guide for ours because the one on it wasn't very good, but it could be something else he downloaded. I'll ask him about it this evening for you.

Yeah many of them seem to have a limited ability to show the guide unless you've actually watched that channel in the last 7 days. It's a pain. Maybe it's how the signal is sent over here?
