The reef at Noarlunga.....
is it easy to find as I`m taking my daughter down there on Friday to do a bit of snorkeling?
Is it worth a 100km round trip?
I think noarlunga beach/reef is beautiful...a friend of ours travels from Mawson Lakes for her fix of it, dont know if thats further than you or not but its a fair old trip for her...but well worth it.
;)You cant miss it,at Port Noarlunga roundabout turn right (if heading south) keep going for 1km and there it is right behind the jetty, a great beach for kids as the reef breaks the waves, enjoy your trip.
PS treat yourself to fish and chips in the chippy opposite the surf shop .......the best ever
It's a lovely place, get's busy on the holidays though.
Second picture shows the mouth of the Onkaparinga River.

The beach is lovely but as Tyke says gets busy on the hols. If you have kids, it's a lovely place for them to have a dip as the water is so clear and often fairly calm depending on the tide...maybe check out the tide times if you can as it will be much nicer if the tide's out.
The reef itself I have not yet ventured to but the last time I was there, saw loads of scuba divers heading along the jetty towards it, so it must be well worth a butchers.
My girls have seen shoals of tiny fish in the very shallow water near the beach...a snorkel and mask are a must for the littlies!
Thanks all, it looks bostin
Defo making the trip down now, anyone got an approx time for low tide on Friday?
Lowest tide that day is around 11.30 am 0.58m.
