Just wondering if anyone knows of a good venue in the South to hold a 40th birthday party?
It depends how many guests you'll have I guess.
The Surf Life Saving Club at Port Noarlunga can be hired - great balcony and outlook over Southport Beach. You'd need around a 100 guests for that one.
A lot of wineries have function rooms.
The South Adelaide Football club at Noarlunga , Jimmey Deanes Entertainment centre.

When you say 'south' ..... what area do you mean specifically?
Lots of different places but some may be too far from you or not very convenient so perhaps you could give a bit more detail, something like ..xxkms from Y ?
And Happy Birthday to the birthday girl/boy!
we are in Sheidow park and I am planning my 40th in August
I had my 40th get together at mick"o"sheas on south road last year. I just gave them a call to warn them their sat lunch trade will be up by 50 - 60 people so were well staffed and that was it. No charge and they opened up all the sliding doors to outside and even put on free nibbles !!!
My friend has an Xmas party at Flagstaff Hill Golf club every year and really likes it. We ate there on our reccie and it was lovely.
Best of luck with the plans - I am just organising my dad's 50th surprise party which is 5 days before our one way flights. I love party planning!

Thanks guys....had thought about the Victoria Hotel but havent been....they have a function room.....has anyone been?
The council has a list of venues on their website, print that off and give them a call. I was organising my mates 40th in July and found Jimmy Deane's in Port Noarlunga to be the most expensive and the cheapest was the Naval Club in Port Noarlunga.
