You have to take another test, when I took mine I took it in a Scania 112M range change with a crash box,not to bad,I was used to driving British and later european trucks, most units are 6 wheelers mainly American trucks, as the GVW is higher, best to take your test in a B double [2 trailer artic] for interstate and local work,In the 14 years I've lived here I've never used my semi[artic] licence there are no decent rest areas, the guys who live away for weeks at a time live like dogs, most of the work is north of the city,I think interstate work is generally paid by the kilometre , I would stick to mechanical plenty of transport companies around Regency Park/Gillman areas, you'll never get rich working for a boss in this state.good luck

I can't agree with bigal more..stick with mechanical work, South Australia is on the verge of a mining revolution with copper, gas, coal, uranium, iron ore etc.....if you can stand working away from the family for a little you can earn dream money.
The most basic trade assitstance (labourers) are on $100000 a year, target mining companies or mining prospect companies.
Your best friend before you leave will be your P.C., research, research, research in all thing South Australia, stats show that those who are better prepare to move by know of where they are going will settle quicker. good luck.
