they will probably be in yr 8 or 9 for the 13 yr old, depending on birthday and the 8 yr old in grade 3 or 4.

Hello PIA,
Amazing site and a great help for us Brits moving to Oz. I have a son, 10 years old born on July 2001. Also have a daughter, 7 years old, born on June 2004. What grade should they be? Many thanks.

Hi your 8 yr old will be in year 3 or 4 and your 13yr old will be in year 8 it depends on when there birthdays are, hope this helps, Louise

Maria, your 10 yr old could be in gr 4 and your 7 yr old in gr 2, but depending on the work they have done etc, they may be in gr 5 and 3. Usually they like to keep kids with their peers.
