Well it's been a few years since we used this school and it has undergone a revamp with new classrooms built and the gym extended. The school is now split into 2 areas : R- 5 who follow the IB Primary curriculum and yrs 6-7 following the first 2 yrs of the IB middle years program. This school regularly hosts International students from Korea and also has a wide ethnic group of students. Parents are usually behind the school policies 100% so few major behavioural problems occur. Students mostly move onto Private school or to Glenunga High or Marryatville High.

Thanks for the review. Checked out the website and it seems to be a pretty large school. Do you know how many classes are in a year group and how many children in a class? I'm interested in primary schools that follow the IB program. I know that Melbourne only has a handful of government primary schools that follow IB at primary level. Are there many in Adelaide do you know? Sorry for so many questions. I will have to contact DECS although have found they are not prompt at answering emails and the time difference makes it tricky to phone.
Thanks,
roula
There are usually 3 to 4 classes in a year group. Some will be composite classes, as yr 3/4 together. It just depends on student numbers. Class sizes were about 26 in the R-2 years and up to 30 ish in the Primary but they do try to keep them as small as possible. There are quite a few IB primary schools here. They are usually clustered around a high school that does IB. So in this area there is Glen Osmond, Magill, Marryatville, Burnside and a few more. There is another cluster including, Blackwood Primary, Belair, Coromandel Valley and some more.

What you personally like: This school has a country "community" feel because of its size. It recently achieved the greatest improvement in South Australia for National Testing results. Children are treated as individuals, and new-comers are welcome. The school is right next to the major shopping hub of Tea Tree Plaza.

Arrived and settling in well!
I am from SriLanka. We are going to migrate to Adelaide in April 2012. I have two kids. One aged 13 and the other 8. Will you please tell us in which grade they will be in 2012?
