      Western Adelaide

      1. Findon High School, Findon

      2. Henley High School, Henley Beach

      3. Le Fevre High School, Semaphore South

      4. Seaton High School, Seaton

      5. Underdale High School, Underdale

      6. Woodville High School, Woodville

      Eastern Adelaide

      1. Adelaide High School, West Terrace, Adelaide

      5. Norwood/Morialta High School, Rostrevor

I got good comments about school facilities about Seaton High School in Western area and Marryatville High School and Norwood/Morialta High School in Eastern Side. Please throw your view about other schools so that newbies including me can take a decision for selecting an area to settle.

Thanks for this - wil make interesting reading as we are making the move early 2012 with 6 children - 17, 14,10,9, 5 and 2 !!! and the whole school process with so many children is rather daunting!!

Our oldest son has just finished Year 12 in Le Fevre......teachers have been very supportive, giving advice and lots of help, when needed, and he has enjoyed his time there. We have not encountered any problems with the school and as a result, our youngest, is starting there in January.

For schools in eastern side, apart from Charles Campbell, I think you will hear that all those schools (Marryatville, Glenunga, Adelaide, Norwood Morialta) will get a very positive comments. My two children are in Marryatville (a boy in year 9 in High, and a girl year 5 in Primary). Very happy with the schools, activities, et all. Just saw in the newspaper the other day that a daughter of SA new minister for education is in Marryatville Primary. If the minister is happy with the school, certainly I won't complain.

      My Mood
      Fine
I have friends with kids at Charles Campbell High who are very impressed with the school. They are just changing from a Year 8 to 12 school to a Reception to Year 12 school, merging with their local primary. They have a Performing Arts specialism there. Marryatville is excellent for music particularly. Glenunga offers the SHIP (Students with High Intellectual Potential) program where a child can skip a year, or do some of their exams a year early for example. Norwood has a good rep as well, but doesn't specialise in anything particularly that I know of. Also in the North East you have Modbury High, Golden Grove High, and Banksia Park High which are all well thought of by parents I know whose kids go there.

I'd heard that Adelaide High is extremely hard to get into these days (language specialism) with even some children living within catchment area not being guaranteed of a place (not sure how that works, but that's what I've heard!)

      HTH

I can only be nice to one person each day....today is NOT your turn...and tomorrow isn't looking too hopeful either.
