hiya guys im a new mum of one a 9 month old and our visas have been sent out to oz we await our fate fingers crossed it will be granted , would like to settle glenelg area or suberbs of but looking for a place where the houses have own drainage and not sleuces in yard or near to a septic tank ( there was a sewer farm near west lakes if i remember rightly and it smelt so bad it put me off the area) need some ideas from families who have settled in oz where is best place to rent with small children upon landing in oz where there are easy access to shops nurseries play centres parks for my son which can be reached upon foot and not by car? be it for long term rental or for just a holiday whilst searching for a home, any ideas please much appriciation for advice claudia xx
hi Claudia we been here for 8 weeks now and moved from Leeds. We have settled in Aldinga which is about 30-40 mins drive from City but is lovely and quiet. The surroundings are amazing with the sea and the hills and the people are so friendly.There are schools, kindys and its own new shopping centre. There are quiet a lot of people from uk settling here. The rentals are cheaper as well which is a good thing. I am sharing car with hubby at moment as his motorbike in for repair but I manage to walk to shopping centre, beach and playgrounds. Fingers crossed u get your visa cos it is an amazing place to live. It is a long slog to get there but worth it.
