Hmmmmmmmmm lucky you! Meg wears a soft contact in her left eye new every 2 weeks @ £30 a throw. Currently provided by the NHS on a specialist run from the manufactures.
We dont know if it will be possible to get them on medi care so we have cultivated our local optician. A very nice helpfull man who recons if we buy 12m supply @ once he could get them for about £25 a month, £300 per anum. He is prepared to act as itermidiary for us and send them out to AU if desperation strikes. I suspect if your eyes arnt off the scale like Megs you may be able to deal direct with the manufacturers over the net.

Has anyone checked out Specsavers in Rundle Mall??

I went to Specsavers in Rundle Mall. I paid $160 for 3 months supply of fortnightly Acuvue Oasys lenses plus another $24.95 for solution and cases which the optician said should last the three months. It was more than I paid in the UK but I desperately needed lenses. I am probably going to go online and order some when I next need them.

I highly recommend Netoptical (www.netoptical.com.au) for buying your lenses and solutions online. I restocked just this week - they arrived the next day! Graham who runs the place is very helpful, great at communication, and I have been using them for about five years now and always been very happy with them. You still need to get your eyes checked regularly obviously at an opticians - I use Laubman and Pank (sp?) in Tea Tree Plaza and they are great.
If you decide to use Netoptical, feel free to send me a PM coz appartently if you put my name in as having recommended them I get a discount next time I order :) - you don't have to though....!!

PS Just did a quick price comparison with Flutterby's lenses above - Acuvue Oasys 12 pack - $68
I can only be nice to one person each day....today is NOT your turn...and tomorrow isn't looking too hopeful either.
