For all of those who are expecting visiotrs over for Christmas, or for those planning a trip back, remember to do your deep breathing exercises and walk about on the plane in those lovely flight socks! My Mum is in hospital at Noarlunga with two large clots in her lungs! Cant bear to think about what might have been if she hadnt have gone to A and E yesterday.

Mum came home today, shes going to be on regular injections for a little while and on long term warfarin. Its really shook us all up to be honest with you.

It was a real farce trying to find her a bed, Flinders Public was full and on divert to the RAH, and both Noarlunga and Flinders Private wouldnt accept her despite her having travel inscurance. What a waste of money thats is! Anyway, they finally found her a bed at Noarlunga Public and all costs will be covered under the UK/Aus agreement.

And it was two large clots, multiple(!) clots to both lungs

Anyway, shes back home and safe now. And no doubt it wont be long before she becomes an extremely demanding patient!
