hi everyone
just wondering if its best to try and sort out medicare from the uk,or do it when we arrive in adelaide????
is there anything else you need to register regarding health,dentitist,and stuff.

Not sure if you can do this from the uk - we just went to the local medicare office with our passports and filled out a form. All in all took about 20 mins including queuing ;) Got given a temporary card and ours arrived in post few days later.

I'm 90% sure you cannot apply unless you have entered the country.

Recently I took some friends down to Medicare to register a couple of days after they arrived.We were told that they would have to wait a few days longer as their entry into the country had been processed on the system yet.

Have checked for you - cannot apply until you have been in Oz for 10 days :D
