      Medicare.

      Do you get medicare sorted before leaving the uk or have a private medical insurance to cover you whilst you travel ?

      Agent assigned aug 2009,Skills test May 2010, Results- PASS July 2010
      Applied for State sponsorship with SA Oct 2010.State sponsorship granted Nov 2010.
      Visa e-lodgement Nov 2010.Medicals March 2011. Police checks 2011.

      VISA GRANTED 11/04/11
      Flights booked ! fly to oz 6th oct 2011 !!!

      Hi
      You can't get medicare until you land in Oz - you all (anyone over 14) have to present yourselves plus various ID and Visa to a medicare office. We are off to do this tomorrow, hopefully it will be pretty straight forward.
      We got One Way Travel Insurance which covers you for up to 21 days.
