Advice on medicals

Are you told when to go and book your medicals or can you go for them as soon as you have lodged your application?

Hi,

Just in case anyones going to answer my question at top as you can see have got my Visa now:) so medicals are long gone, but thanks for all the replies. Hi to all the Chorleyites there appears to be quite a few!! As for the question regarding can you take your medicals anytime? Many people reccomend to wait till CO says to go for them however we went for them before CO had been allocated and took the chance, then we had everything done and dusted for when CO came along so we had nothing to hold us up, but everybody is different as you only have 12 months from the date you take your medicals so if there are any huge delays with your Visa you could end up having to take them again!

Just a quick note on the medicals and police checks..

We were advised by our agent to have the meds and police checks done last December.

After lots of messing about we managed to get our visa in September this year.

The visa came with the stipulation that we entered the country before the meds and police checks expire.

This only gave us 3 months to go through immigration to validate the visa!

This was not much of a problem for us, as we sold the house and all the other bits and bobs earlier in the year.

Just be warned that you might not have much time to validate the visa.
