Unlock a Tmobile phone

Any idea how to unblock a Tmobile mobile phone? We googled it and did it but not sure if it works. Has anyone done it successfully?

We have put an Australian SIM card in, but it doesn’t work and since we have good phones, don’t want to pay for new ones.

Depends on the manufacturer of the phone - some are easier/cheaper to do than others - I know there's a young guy in Allphones in Colonnades that has a contact that can do it, for a price, otherwise. To be honest though, the cheapest (and best) way to do it is by contacting the UK network (in this case T Mobile) - they will charge you but it will be done properly.

I don't have the time right now to do this, but if you go to the Moneysavingexpert website (Martin Lewis) and search on unlocking phones it directs you to several sites that show you exactly how. I am far from an expert with ANYTHING technical but I have managed to unlock 3 different phones - on each one I used these links.
