Security Shutters

Just moved into a rental today and something I have pondered whilst driving around arose. Do you put your shutters down every night or is that excessive?

are they 'security shutters'? i've seen lots of houses with what looked like 'security shutters' to me, and i then wondered about the area...however after asking people discovered these shutters are for keeping heat out of the house.

Hi there

If you are talking about what I think that you're talking about - people dont use them as a security device, they are used to keep out the heat when temperatures soar! We have screens on our doors that look like security screens/mozzie screen, we leave our patio and front door open and have the screens locked so that a breeze blows through the house, plus then we have the protection from the insects.

I'm with Lindsey - they are not security shutters - unless you live in one of the areas that will remain unnamed

 

Great for stopping the heat - and keeping the heat in for winter!
