Aaargh.....

Anybody know how to get rid of a red wine stain off a cream carpet or what product will do it, we are in a rental so really need to get rid of the stain, have tried preen and sard soap but it is still visible

Any advice would be appreciated

errrrr, not a wine drinker myself but had heard that at the time you do it you can use either club soda or white wine to neutralise it, not sure now that its set and you've tried cleaning it so had a quick squiz on the internet and there is a product called wine away but it appears to be an american product so not sure how easily you could get a hold of it. Hope someone else has more useful ideas for you.

You can buy wine away from most of the wineries too!! Hubby is a carpet layer and swears by WD40 to remove stains, but be careful and test it in a small area first

if you wet it and still get wine coloured fluid off it then salt soaks up a lot of things and with blood braeks down the protein allowing it to leave the fabric. .....Sorry but who would put cream carpet in a rental.....askin for trouble....

I have used white wine on a red wine spill but that was as soon as it was done dried it off with some kitchen roll then put salt and bi carb left it over night to dry some more vac off and stain was gone.

 

WD40 is also great for getting playdoh out of carpets;)

Did the salt thing and it almost worked but it was a dried in stain, so I tried the napisan and the stain has gone. Stupid idea to put cream carpet in a rental, we have runners and rugs everywhere and still managed to spill wine on a small patch of uncovered carpet...nightmare

I did the same thing myself. I brought Vanish Preen stain remover for carpets, got rid of all the stain with a couple of goes. Good luck
