      Heating options

OK, we don't have gas where we live but we already have ducted evaporative cooling installed in our new house. We don't have any heating at all so we are looking at our options for the winter.

Would you just go and put in ducted reverse cycle in all the rooms?
Which companies have you used for your reverse cycle systems?
How big is your house? How much did it cost?
We used Climat to put in a Daikin system in our previous house and that was good.

      Thanks

We have ducted heating and a combo wood heater, best of both worlds, ducted until the arvo then a roaring fire for night, lovely with a nice Merlot.

That sounds great, how does it work??? we currently have r/c but have rarely used the heat maybe 3 times in 4 years as we have gas fire in family room and open fire in lounge. I am asking how it works because the new house we may buy has air con and a gas heater thats it. We want to have a wood burner as we are so used to the open fire so wondered how you would get it ducted etc and costs???
      Cheers for any advice

We are having our Gas duct heating put in next week YAY!!! But I did get a price on changing our evap cooling to R/C for a 3/4bed house it was gunna cost almost $9K. to havea wood burner was gunna cost about $2 and a half grand

Iknow its not cheap to run but how about electric wall heaters? you can fix them on the wall and they just plug in and you can paint them to blend in. Bunnings had some nice looking electric heaterlooks a bit like a fire place for $250.:)

Actually we are looking into the electric wall heater option with possibly installing solar electricity panels. Anyone done this and found it any cheaper?
