january sales?
are there usually any sales on in january for furniture and household goods?we are not bringing anything apart from our clothes and a few personal things so we will need to start all over again.we are going to buy as much second hand as possible but would it be worth waiting untill january to get the things that we require new?any advice would be much appreciated.:daydreaming:

There are sales on all the time, stock take sale (done twice a year), end of year sale (calander and financial) Pre christmas sale, post christmas sale, spring sale, autumn sale, closing down sale (takes 18 months for some to close down) when it's gone it's gone sale.
basically don't worry too much there's always one around the corner.
Super A mart has some cheap stuff in, good for setting up costs.
Don't forget to haggle, and don't tell them you just got off the boat their eyes will see $$$$$$$$$

Check your 'junk mail' tells you where all the sales are and when. I advise anyone not to go out and buy anything they want but to keep an eye out and go shopping in the sales. There is nothing worse than paying out $600 for something only to see it on sale in the same shop a week later for $400.
Disclaimer:- The above is just my opinion. It doesn't mean its right or wrong. Its just the way I see it.

Don't put off buying stuff before Christmas in the hope it will be cheaper in the January Sales either - I've done that in the past and it just doesn't happen!
I can only be nice to one person each day....today is NOT your turn...and tomorrow isn't looking too hopeful either.
