Hi Guys,

I would really appreciate your views on DIY electrical work.

I understand that to even change a UK plug to Australian plug you are meant to be an electrician?????

In the reall world what do you guys do when it comes to fitting electric lights and electric fans. Do you just do it yourself or would you advise against this?

Any comments would be great.

It is a bit awkward and frustrating.

We all know how to do the basic stuff I'm sure - and it does seem silly to call someone out for such minor tasks.

 

BUT............. If you have a fire caused by that work the insurance companies are not going to pay up.

That bit frightens me.
