Mobile phone unlocking

Anyone know where i can get my phone unlocked. Should have done it in the uk before we came out here but forgot to do it.

I contacted O2 with mine and they just sent an email a week later to say that I could now use it. Other half went and paid $60 to do the same. Free of charge.

there is a place on grote st on the front facade of the central markets that will do it.

or depending what phone it is and a bit of reading on tinternet it can be done easily yourself.

my sony one required a download of a program and a bit of fiddling about but was better than the $50 one place wanted.

There is a stall in West Lakes that charges $40 for it and you have to wait 24 hrs for your phone back,not straightforward but what is over here.

Have you tried it with a local SIM card? I brought one over that was locked in the UK and it worked here with Telstra no problems- that was a Sony Ericsson.
