If its a chimney then is there a fireplace, if so, can you not send smoke up the chimney?? Failing that ring the local council they might help, they will need to know whether they are European wasps which can be killed, but if they are native bees you can't kill them.

It an open fire place, no fire in place. We only been in house a few months.

What is the difference between a european wasp and a native bee??

We had lots in an outside door frame and got the powder stuff which has killed them, but this one being on the roof dont really fancy sending hubby up there.

try and read what it says behind the piccie, i think with a european nest the council will remove it free of charge, try ringing your councils after hours number, i know Tea tree Gully will respond out if hours to a european nest, if you say its a danger to yourselves and neighbours...

OMG they look so alike. From the one I just killed I think they european as it didnt look as yellow as the native one. Have put a board up the chimney so will ring council tomorrow and see what they say.

Thanks

Hubby just got back and went on roof and put some powder down. Wondering how many dead wasps will be in fire place when I move the piece of wood that is covering it later. Will see if that does the trick and if not will phone council. Thanks both
