Hi

 

My son has a UK Xbox & wants to use Xbox live. He wasn't a member in UK as he only purchased his Xbox just prior to coming to oz. He has purchased a points card in Oz but still couldn't get online. Does he have to have a UK online account due to his Xbox being from UK? Any advice welcome.

xbox live points are something that you purchase off the xbox marketplace. your son needs to go out and by a xbox live gold membership. 3months $40 12 months is $80 . you can get this from game , if your not sure the game guys at collonades are really helpful

no, he'll need an australian account due to being in Australia (the xbox marketplace can tell from the IP address). He will need to change his hotmail account location to Australia, and if using credit card to buy points, it needs to be an australian one.

Thanks, he had to set up an hotmail account, wouldn't let us set it up with Orange email address & he's now online & getting charged $1 for first months membership. Got one happy son now.
