Can I Have Some Help
I'm sure this question has been answered before, but i am really struggling on where to look for accomidation. I have a job at the RAH, but i have no idea where to look to live or rent at least when we get out there! Could anyone give me some ideas, not to far away, but a nice area. I understand we all have different idea's, but as long it is safe for the kids, not to long from work, and not to far from local shops we don't mind. We are llooking to rent at first, till we find our feet.
Thanks in advance
It depends on your budget.
North Adelaide is gorgeous but can be expensive. It is old money there mostly and a nice road to rent down is Archer Street. Some friends of ours rented a huge place down there (paid for by their company) but it cost a heart stopping $1000 a week !!!!!!
Mawson Lakes is that side of town ish and someone else may be able to give you a better diea of distance.
These are very close to where you are and close to the city.
Anywhere down south is good. Not sure about the north but its somewhere to start.
The good thing about Adelaide is that everywhere is accessible fairly quickly. If you want to be no more than say 20 minutes from the RAH then that includes a large chunk of the inner city. Anywhere east upto the hills is about 20 mins away, look at Magill, Parkside, Unley, Glenunga, Anywhere along the coast from Brighton to Port Adelaide. All the high schools/ primary schools in the east and inner south do very well. Nailsworth, Prospect, in the north are pleasant areas but there are fewer schools to choose from. Basically get your map of Adelaide, draw a circle that surrounds the city for about 15 - 20kms and you wont be far away from the RAH. Each area of Adelaide has its major shopping centre similar to American shopping malls aswell as smaller complexes housing supermarkets etc. Usually there are delis (corner shop) dotted around the place and the petrol stations aswell, unless you live in the outer suburbs. If you like certain schools try renting in that area, you can always move later once your children are in. The popular schools usually require evidence of a long term rental agreement, as they have to give a place to your child if you live in the catchment zone. There are nice areas in the outer subuebs with good school and if you are near the train it is easy to get to the RAH as all trains head into town and the station is just down the road.
Thanks for the replies..... Very helpful
