Solar Electricity.Anyone who can recommend.

We are about to take the plunge and go Solar,as our Bills are way too much,and hope we can bring them down a bit(or a lot!):biggrin:Anyway,any info would be gratefully received,as we know very little about it all.Mannix have an offer of 20% off for a few more days, we wonder if that might be worthwhile?What are the most important things to know,and ask?Thanks in advance,Sue.

Its a good question - I am quite keen on doing the same once we move to our place, and chuck on a solar heated tank on the roof too. I got one rough quote from SolarHart and they seem good - but no real idea of good ones \ bad ones.

If you type 'solar' into the Advanced Search facility there are quite a few postings to have a look at that may help narrow things down and give you some more information.

We got solar through Zen a couple of years ago and the customer service has been absolutely excellent. We had them put on our shed and the solar hot water put on the house (with an electric boost as the electric was solar). We haven't paid for electricity or hot water for over 2 years, a very good investment. We have a 4.2 kw system and we are with Origin.

We had ours put in by Origin and they were brilliant - the last 2 bills were over $300 in credit!
