power sockets

Hi all,

If electrical items are taken from the uk to Aus what is the easiest way of adapting them to work in Australian style power sockets. I see that they are also 240v in Aus so is it just a case of changing the plug tops or is it best to buy loads of "travel" adaptors to plug into?

Some TV's will work, our large lounge TV worked fine (it eventually died but nowt to do with moving it halfway round the world) but the kids TV/VIDEO combi's didn't work. Same thing Video's (one of our's tuned into Aussie frequency with no problem and one wouldn't). DVD's are region 4 here not region 2 as in Europe, if you have DVD's that say region 2 you'll need to either bring a region 2 player or buy a multi-region player.

Xbox, PS and Gamecube all work fine here.
