Hot tub advice

Just need a bit of advice. We are looking at getting a hot tub when we arrive, but OH has read that we are going to need a safety fence around it. Can anyone give us an idea of cost and legislation about this, ie height of fence, can you put it up yourself, material fence must be made of.

Whenyou say Hot Tub i presume you mean a Spa!!!

 

We have one and it has a hard lockable cover on it and it is very safe!!!

You dont need a fence for this purpose!!

Yep, sorry I mean a spa! (note to self - must learn to speak Australian)!

Thanks for the advice, a hard cover sounds a lot less hassle than a fence

:)The fence issue comes in if you have a pool , you must have it fenced in to save little people falling in. But as Jo says i dont think you need on for a hot tub.

No fence required if you have a spa. all new spas come with lockable covers that make it difficult for little hands to open.

When we bought ours last year we were told that legally you need a fence around it and permission from the council - even if it has a lockable top. However in practise it is never enforced.

We bought ours in last october and since june this year we have had a repairman out to it half a dozen times!!!!! It still keeps turning itself off and seems to have a mind of its own!!!!!
