Web hosting???

Would anyone be able to suggest a cheap web host?

 

We have a little "sideline" business that needs to have the site/domain hosted.

 

Nothing flashy as the site itself does not really generate any business - we just have to have the "obligatory" web presence for it;)

 

Any suggestions much appreciated.

These are the 2 that i recomend to everyone that ive built sites for.

Crazy host http://www.crazydomains.com.au but you will require and ABN , Cheep, very good and never had any hastle with them.

One.com http://www.one.com cheep, very very good and never had any hastle with them either.

Both come with all the bells and whistles that most other hosting and domain reg make you pay for and it all part of the package with them.

I suggest webcare.com.au. Local, and the owner is a member on here (or was on the other site run buy the fool - and I don't mean Stewart)

 

They host my 3 sites, and built 2 of them.

I do not know how much you know about web configuration, but if you are able to play with it a little bit by yourself, you will find it easy and inexpensive.

Do as follows:

1. get yourself a domain: www.cheaperdomain.com.au but there are other providers.

The .com.au domain goes for $35 a year or cheaper.

2. set up the Google Apps and attach them to your domain. Google explains step by step how to do it.

3.One of the components of the Google Apps is the website builder. I use it extensively and it is FREE.

NB. you can test the website builder (to see if you like it) without having a domain by logging in to Google Sites http://sites.google.com/ with your Gmail Account credentials. You can get yourself a domain later.
