Bedding question

Hi everyone,

 

Here in the UK we have bedding sizes in single, double, king and superking. In Oz you have single, double, queen and king.

 

Is our king size the same as Oz kingsize or is our king size the same as Oz queen size?

The UK king is the Oz queen. Singles are the same. Hope this helps

Bed Sizes in Australia

 

Strange one this but bed sizes are different here than in the UK so if you're concerned about bed and bedding sizes here goes (and it's in feet and inches for those of you not in metric):

Single - Aussie = 3 feet x 6 feet 2 inches

UK = 2 feet 11 inches or 3 feet x 6 feet 3 inches

 

King Single - Aussie only = 3 feet 6 inches x 6 feet 8 inches

 

Double - Aussie = 4 feet 6 inches x 6 feet 2 inches

UK = 4 feet 6 inches x 6 feet 3 inches

 

Aussie Queen = 5 feet x 6 feet 8 inches

UK King = 5 feet x 6 feet 6 and 3/4inches

 

Aussie King = 6 feet x 6 feet 8 inches

UK Super King = 6 feet x 6 feet 6 and 3/4inches

 

These are different again from UK Ikea sizes but please note that if you have an Ikea bed in the UK you will not be able to purchase a mattress to fit it from IKEA in Australia.

 

Ikea UK sizes (in metric)

Single 90 x 200 cms

Double 140 x 200 cms

King 160 x 200 cms
