not used them...we decided to go with Crown (also Scottish branch - Livingston)....felt they were more professional in their approach to the quote process...the guy at anglo seemed a bit fly...what problems are you having?

hi there

well.....basically the furniture was delayed for 3 weeks. however no one from anglo bothered to tell us, we had to find out from the company at this side who thought it only right we should know. anyway as we were expecting our furniture we moved out of our furnished accommodation and into a big cold empty house. we complained and the man from anglo pacific said he would deduct £500 off the final price we had been billed for. so....the furniture is due to arrive now and we phoned up to pay the final invoice and they denied all knowledge of ever having said they would deduct the money and then said we had to pay another £850 for insurance. when we originally got our quote we ticked a box to state we would take the £5000 free cover they had at the time. the packers had told us to list everything we where shipping and put in the total value of the items although we would only be covered for £5000. now they are saying we have signed a legal document and they wont give us our furnitue until it is paid........any advice would be really appreciated. p.s we do have a final invoice which this insurance was not on and they said they forgot to put it on and are entitled to add things on if they like

Hi Tess

that is shocking. I don't suppose you have anything from them in writing that says they agree to deduct £500 from final invoice? You should also have a copy of your insurance forms with the terms and conditions as well as a copy of your contract with Anglo. It sounds like the company at your end may be understanding and more helpful...you could try speaking to them to see if they can offer any advice...or put a new post on here looking for legal advice...there will probably be someone on here who will have some professional advice for you. I've always insisted on having everything that was negotiated with our movers to be in writing before we agree to anything. I would doubt though that they can add anything whenever they choose though....stand your ground and get professional advice.

I wish I could offer you more help but I'm merely a humble graphic designer.

hi thank for all you comments on this issue. we have managed to resolve the problem. we got to speak to someone in the company who was really helpful who sorted out the problem and it turned out to be crossed wires somewhere along the line. but in the end we didnt owe the money. so all is well that ends well:-)
