Hi everyone new to this just wondering if anyone knows anything about solid plastering and the wages i have got my pr visa but dont know if we can still make the move as looking at the sums it dont add up. we have 2 children and really dont know what to do now as we cant sell our house.

Hi, wages for solid plasterers are roughly $300.00 a day self employed. Majority of work is sand/cement render,texture coating.Internal plastering is called hard set/white set, bit different to multi-finish. Out here you add lime to the plaster. Most places dry lined,taped and flushed. Work is available you just gotta ring round the companies . Hope this helps. Col.

Hey col, im a solid plasterer by trade moved here from newzealand over a year ago now, most people are getting about $25 an hour for solid plastering and but im tiling over here full time instead, as moneys a bit better and you keep out of the sun! the guys ive talked to on building sites all say there on 25 an hour but are only employed as casual workers, so they have to pay there own tax's out of that 25 an hour and dont get holiday pay or super, and the guys ive talked to in summer work from 6:30am til about 12pm everyday since its to hot for the plaster, also most plasterer's over here and rendering over the bricks and then doing a texture coat over the top, hope this helps
