Primary School Teaching Jobs?

My wife and I (both 38 years old) are at the start of the process. We are both primary school teachers (for 13 years), and I have just been made headteacher. We wondered what the job situation is - supply work? pay? opportunities? would I need to go back into teaching or could I jump in as a headteacher? (I am willing to still teach - just wondered!).

If anyone has any information so we can make a more informed decision it will be gretaly received.
