Self employment?

Hi all, hoping people could give some pointers as to what we need to think about in terms of outgoings when self employed in oz.

 

My OH is a barber and when we arrive the plan is for him to go self employed and open up a barber shop wherever we end up settling.

 

What outgoings is he likely to have to pay when working out of a commercial premises, so far we have listed rent, electricity / gas / water, GST, accountant,

 

We are trying to find out about council rates for businesses, Is there such a thing in Oz and if so is there anybody who can give as an idea of what the rates are?

 

Any info whatsoever would be appreciated as over here my OH has only ever worked for someone else, so this is going to be a big step.
