Hi we are just waiting for our visa to arrive and are planning to go as soon as its here. Ive already registered as a teacher in adelaide and wondered if anyone could recommend a good agency for secondary/tafe supply teaching. thanks janine x
Libby1971 is the person to ask. Her and her husband have worked for supply agencies here for awhile now.
Best of luck
Thanks Judi, nice to be thought of as knowledgeable :D.
We registered with Switch Educational Recruitment which have come up trumps for us - although not the greatest payers, we have had lots of work through them. And they found my hubbie his permanent job, which has been a relief. They have moved to Greenhill Road - Claire Hamilton or Tara Ross can be of help there.
Select Educational Recruiment is another one - we haven't registered with them yet but I haven't heard terrible things about them. Switch have alot to do with the private and religious schools and Select offer themselves in that area too plus the state schools.
However, for relief teaching in state schools, just get yourself registered (just! ha!) with DECS who send a permission form out to you confirming you have authority to teach in state schools which is copied and sent to schools with your resume/ CV. The schools concerned will concerned you directly if they want you for relief teaching or contract (temp) work.
I hope this helps - once you have got your TRB sorted, it takes about 2 weeks to get your DECS clearance through.
hi thankyou for the reply- looked at the dec site more forms!!!! Cant wait for the visa we phoned last week and was told we should hear by friday- fingers crossed we will be on our way next week. x
