Hi All,

We've just arrived in Adelaide over a week now and was wondering if anybody out there knows of any contacts in the trade for work for my husband who is a carpenter and joiner?

Many thanks:D

does he want to do site bashing?? employed or self employed.

if he wants to go self employed he'll have to get a licence. Firstly you'll need to contact OCBA (Office of Consumer and Business Affairs) Here is the web link, they are based in the City

http://www.ocba.sa.gov.au/licensing/

Then becoming a member of the Master Builders Association will help as thats where most of the courses are held. http://www.mbasa.com.au Being a member of the CITB will get you big discounts on the courses but isn't anything like the CITB in the uk.

Look in the Advertiser in the job pages Saturday and Wednesday, there is employed and sub contract work.

Try all the big builders, Hickinbotham, Devine, Homestead, Rossdale, Scott Salisbury and see if they will give you the phone numbers of their building supervisors to see if they need anyone but you'll probably need a licence to work for them.

Try a post on Adelaide Brits, there are quite a few carpenters on there that might be able to help.

Hope that helps
