Is there much work for fitters???

Hello

My OH is a fitter and we were thinking of living in South Oz if our visa ever gets granted but I just wondered if there was much work for maintenance fitters out there, ideally in the food industry.

Also as we've never been to Oz and were just wondering which places people had settled in? I remember reading something on here about Hallet Cove and just wanted people's views?

We have had 2 M/F take packages recently, due to the down turn, wouldn't let me go:mad:, they have both found work the next day via a agency and are now both employed full time, albeit on a lower wage as we work 4 on 4 off excellent wages, one is on $34 the other $29 but expect the $30 hour, or work at the mines and get double to triple that.
