Skills shortage list published in job supplement

Recommended Posts

I thought the attached list of occupations with high vacancy rates, indicating a shortage of skilled workers in these areas might be useful. This was printed in The Advertisers CareerOne job supplement on Sat 26 May 2012.

Some people incorrectly assume that because their job is on a skills list for migration purposes they will be able to just walk into a job when they arrive and this is often not the case in some occupations, not all, but some. If your occupation is on this list, your job prospects appear to be positive.

For information the majority of jobs in Australia advertised for 'Stonemasons' are for those experienced in granite eg worktops and not your traditional stonemason.
