Builder's License

Hi,

 

my husband is a carpenter and is toying with the idea of applying for a Builder's License. Has anyone got theirs? Can you give us any information/advice.

He will have to do a course first before he will be able to get his licence Its In two parts. You can do the course at a number of places Tafe, Master builders HIA etc think it cost about $1000 now you can do it at night or one day a week or over 2 weekends. Once you have done the course and passed the take home section you can then apply to OCBA for a licence they will call you in for an interview and will tell you what they will licence you for. Depends on which course you do it can take a while to get a licence. If you go onto the Ocba website you will get the info there. You have to pay nearly $200 each year for your licence as well.
