Recruitment agencies

Hi, I was wondering if anyone has any experience of using an agency to find teaching work (primary) ? Do they take a percentage of your wage? I have circulated my CV but thought this might be another option.

Hi Shelley, I've heard different things here. I've heard that the agency bills the school then pays you the full amount (they get their fees direct from the school) others say they take 20% of your wage. Hopefully someone with experience in Adelaide can help if not I know 4 or 5 relief teachers so I can ask them for you

If a school was to engage a recruiter, the recruiter will charge the school for the service. On top of this they will get a % one off payment. Therefore if a school goes direct you may see a slight increase in wage, but if the budget is there that should happen after the first year has absorbed the recruiters costs anyway.

 

Part of these fees are insurance meaning the recruiter will provide them a new candidate for free, if you were crap or leave.
