trade license

can anyone tell me what trade license you might need for tiler/builder/floor & wall tiler ect, either as employed or self employed, if you do need something can they be done prior to arriving?

You have to do your builders licence in OZ.

if you are going to work for someone as a tiler you will just need your white card (safety course)one day course do it here not on line.

If you are going self employed you will need to get a builders licence which involves doing a course either at night or over two weekends with a take home test at the end and then after you pass that you can apply for your building licence, You will get called in for an interview with OCBAR and they will decide what licence they give you. cost of course approx. $1000 licence just over $200 a year.

I see company's here offering you courses for a white card, do you think this is a con/waste of money? is it easy enough/cheaper to do in aus?

Hi A lot of places will not accept ones done on line it is very easy to do it here in OZ only an 6hr course.
