      Adelaide Zoo - any contacts?

Hi everyone, does anyone work or know of anyone who works at Adelaide Zoo? I studied and worked in the game lodge industry in South Africa and would love to do this when we arrive in Adelaide... any suggestions would be marvellous and gratefully received!

      Hi Marilyn

You might want to look at Monarto Zoo which is much bigger and open.
Might be quite similar to where you've worked before now.

Even try some of these wild life parks..........

There is another near Victor Harbour but can't remember it's name due to the excessive amount of Port I consumed last night

You may also want to think about beginning as a volunteer, if there are no paid opps when you arrive. It could be a way in. Adelaide is all about who you know;)

I agree with the volunteering route
we've just joined the zoo membership and you get to take a behind the scenes tour of the zoo with volunteers and zoo staff and can become a volunteer yourself just to get to know who's who etc

Thanks everyone, unfortunately I think you're right about the volunteering... I'll have to see how quickly The Husband gets a job before I start working for free! x

You may be able to volunteer once a week for a couple of hours. You never know; it may not be a hardship or keep you from working other jobs. Do a walk in when you get here...do the tour as mickpell suggets and have a chat while on it, then grab a name and ring that person up. You never know...truly.
