School bag

Just bought my 5 year old a nice bag for when he starts primary school in may. Its a nice plain blue with a star on it (from Cotton on)

 

Now I see every kid with a "Uniform" bag with the schools name on it. Checked on school website and it doesn't say their bags are compulsory (or that they are not!)

 

Anyway they are $35 - Does anyone know if I need to buy one?

My two dont have the school bag, loads do but its not complsary i dnt think!

If it is a state school, then no. Wait until he asks for one if you are going to change. They do generally last very well though. My kids had the same one through primary school, with the smaller Junior Primary version being handed down.
